About us

Our Mission

The mission of She Power Project is to ignite strength in women from all walks of life, fostering a community of women leaders who can support and guide each other through challenges.

ABOUT SHE POWER

Our Journey Of Empowerment

She Power is built on a strong foundation of social service and women empowerment. The project operates under a Section 8 social organization formed in 1985, with a long-standing commitment to improving the lives of women from marginalized communities across India.

For nearly four decades, the organization has worked closely with women to create awareness about constitutional rights, access to education, healthcare support, and legal assistance. These efforts have helped women gain confidence, knowledge, and the ability to stand up for themselves and their communities.

Over time, She Power has grown into a technology-enabled and community-focused initiative. Today, it addresses key areas such as women’s safety, leadership development, health awareness, and financial independence. Special focus is given to rural, semi-urban, and underserved regions to ensure no woman is left behind.

The journey began in villages of Uttar Pradesh with self-help groups known as Shanti Sena. These groups encouraged women to step into leadership roles and actively participate in local decision-making. Many of these women later became strong voices at block and district levels, leading awareness campaigns on violence against women, health, education, and legal rights.

She Power now brings together women leaders from diverse backgrounds, both rural and urban. Through workshops, discussions, and community programs, they address social challenges with care and understanding. Capacity-building sessions in colleges, workplaces, and communities equip women with leadership skills, policy awareness, and practical knowledge, enabling them to become confident change-makers driving lasting social impact.

Our Visionary Founders

Manesh Gupta

Chairman, SHE POWER Foundation

Manesh Gupta is a visionary social leader and grassroots changemaker who has dedicated over five decades to empowering rural communities and advancing social transformation.

Beginning his professional journey in the legal field, he soon chose a higher calling — devoting his life to building stronger, more equitable communities through grassroots action and people’s participation.

Since 1973, his work has focused on unlocking the leadership potential of women from marginalized and underserved communities across rural Uttar Pradesh. At a time when many of these women had limited access to education, opportunities, or public platforms, he envisioned them not as beneficiaries, but as leaders capable of transforming their families, villages, and future generations.

His clear leadership principle for these women was: ”if you could not access education or if you are poor, it is not your fault — it is the system’s failure.” With this understanding, which he imparted to thousands of women across the villages of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, he gave a voice to marginalized women, encouraging them to question authority and stand against every form of injustice and corruption in their communities.

This vision led to the establishment of SHE POWER Foundation in 1985. What began as a community-driven movement evolved into a powerful women-led movement that has reached nearly 70 villages and catalyzed transformative change across more than 50 villages in Uttar Pradesh.

Today, thousands of grassroots women leaders nurtured through this movement are driving change within their communities, creating a lasting ripple effect of empowerment, dignity, and social progress.

For our Chairman, Mr. Manesh Gupta, empowerment has never been about providing solutions — it has been about awakening leadership from within. His vision continues to shape SHE POWER Foundation’s mission of building a future where every woman has the power to lead, participate, and transform society. His enduring legacy is reflected in the thousands of grassroots women leaders whose voices, confidence, and leadership continue to shape a more equitable and empowered society.

By connecting women, community leaders, volunteers, and changemakers, the platform is helping build a powerful network for empowerment at scale.
